Horror Poster Analysis (The Conjuring)

 

Sam and I set are self a challenge of analysing a horror poster independently and at the end, we came together to discuss these separately and add new findings and compare them. So with Sam, as he had done GCSE media he was much better with his terminology on his poster but I helped him give an audience's point of view as I have only recently started media and am still learning terminology.

I felt that the Horror poster analysis will help me when it comes to doing the horror opening scene as I feel I have come to understand how to spot and use different techniques that are in the poster so therefore I can use them in the scene which will add a new dimension and will make it even more professional. In the poster, it used key terms and conventions so it also acts as a reminder to myself and sam on how to use them, for example in Sam's poster (The Conjuring) it has an old house with an old tree which is very creepy so it shows what a horror setting should look like.
